Jered Weaver Joins San Diego Padres

An avid cook, Nadia Larysa enjoys preparing meals for friends and family; she names Italian dishes as among her favorites. Nadia Larysa is also a baseball fan and supports the San Diego Padres, who have recently come to a deal with pitcher Jered Weaver.

A right-handed pitcher who spent the past 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, Jered Weaver recorded an earned-run average (ERA) of 3.55 and notched a selection to the All-Star Game three times over the course of his time with the Angels. Despite his overall success with the Angels, he posted his two worst ERAs during his last two campaigns, with last year’s ERA coming in at 5.06. However, Weaver didn’t miss a single game to injury last season and completed a team-leading 178 innings.

A native of Southern California, Weaver will stay close to home after signing a one-year, $3 million deal with the Padres, but he will have to compete for a rotation spot in the Padres’ young bullpen.
